How to use the AI Translator

  3. 3Click Translate Text.
  4. 4Review the translation and any notes, then copy the result.

Translation with context

Idioms and words with several meanings depend on context. Translate full sentences rather than isolated words for a more useful result. The source language is identified automatically; mixed-language passages may require extra review.

When a human review matters

Machine translation can miss nuance, dialect and technical terminology. Have a qualified translator review contracts, medical instructions and official documents. This tool does not provide certified translations.

Supported languages

You can translate into English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Hindi. The source language does not need to be selected: it is identified from your text and shown alongside the result, which also helps when you are not sure what language a message is in.

Translations are provided by MyMemory, a public translation service that combines neural machine translation with a large translation memory. Your text is sent to that service in short segments and the translated segments are joined back in order.

Tips for better translations

Translate complete sentences and paragraphs rather than isolated words, so the right meaning can be picked from context. Spell out abbreviations the first time they appear, and keep one language per request: mixed-language passages are harder to detect and translate.

Check names, numbers, dates and units after translating. Date formats and decimal separators differ between countries, and a small slip can change the meaning of an invoice, a schedule or a recipe.

Good uses and limits

The translator works well for understanding emails, reading foreign-language articles, drafting replies to international contacts and preparing a first version of content you will later have reviewed. It is not a certified translation service and should not be the final step for legal, medical, immigration or other official documents.

Frequently asked questions

Which target languages are available?

English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Hindi.

Do I need to select a source language?

No. The source language is detected automatically and shown with the translation.

Is the translator free?

Yes. No account or payment is required. The translation service applies a daily free limit per connection.

How long can the text be?

Up to 15,000 characters per request. Split longer documents into sections and translate them in order.

Will it keep my formatting?
